The Association of Care Leavers Uganda (ACLU) supports the Sustainable Development Goals. Our work contributes to several key SDGs, particularly those focused on reducing inequalities, promoting quality education, and ensuring the well-being of care-experienced individuals. Many children end up in institutional care due to poverty, lack of access to education, and family breakdown. However, life after care often comes with additional challenges, including unemployment, social exclusion, and mental health struggles. Through our programs in advocacy, research, mentorship, and economic empowerment, we work to ensure that care leavers are supported to reintegrate into society, access opportunities, and thrive independently.
